The Meat and Poultry Processing grant program is a USDA-NIFA funded program awarded to ERME that solicited applications to support the meat and poultry processing industry. The funding is intended to help build a pipeline of well-trained workers to help augment the increased independent meat and poultry processing capacity created by other related USDA programs. ERME supports projects that provide education and training for meat and poultry producers, processors, and distributors, which in turn will enable small-to-medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to make sound risk management decisions that aligns with one or more of the five areas of risk: production, marketing, financial, legal or human.
